Sprinkles for Sprinkles :)

A few girl friends have this tradition...
Every time one of us becomes pregnant, we get together, shower them with gifts, laugh, play games... and eat cake :)

So, I tested my new fondant recipe... New Raspberry Cake Recipe.... And new Raspberry filling recipe on the girls...

I wasn't too happy with the new fondant recipe... The first cake... exploded! The fondant melted off the cake after being refrigerated ant there I was at 4am making another batch... this time with just a little more cream added...

They always say "don't mess with a good thing" and so... I decided I would stick to our old fashioned Marshmallow fondant!

Congratulations to the Mommies... Ally, Kerri and Jess... who each delivered their healthy, beautiful little girls not too long ago!

Nonno turns 60!

One of our favorite repeat customers contacted us about a cake for her father, who would be turning 60.
So, with a little discussion, we figured out that since he loves cards, we would do something card themed!
So, a card table it was...

"Nonno" is painted with silver luster...

And the cards, sugarpaste!

I made the poker chips actual size and added  a personalized "S" for Salvatore (Nonno's name!)
I made a edible deck of cards as well with a 60 on it...

The cake was a chocolate cake, filled and coated with chocolate buttercream mouse.

Happy Birthday Nonno! God Bless!!

We're CooCoo for Koko!

My "Secret" client told me about four months ago that for his birthday, the only thing he wanted was a Chuggington cake...but more specifically Koko.
Koko was made using full marshmellow fondant. The head is sculpted and covered as well. The base is made entirely of rice crispy treats.
This is the car that he gave me to base his KOKO cake on. His favorite episode is when KOKO works too hard and falls asleep so, KOKO is looking tired for him lol.

The cake was a yellow cake with chocolate brownie baked into it.
To pair with the vanilla and brwnie, I made a cinnamon honey buttercream.
 Rice crispy treat bottom.
 And another of Koko.

Chuggington!

Surprises come swinging on Vines!

My best friend's sister  contacted me and her best friend's month's ago about throwing her a baby shower... and the excitement has not stopped since!

They really did an amazing job setting up, and getting all the little aspects (Espesially GETTING HER to the shower) down! I never could have done it! I would have definitely slipped!)
(I figure if I add myself to the picture then she won't be mad about me posting ! Love u Ness!)

Vanessa's extremely talented Sister In Law, Erin, designed the invitation. This is what I based the cake on. If you want something that is one of a kind, and has beyond the amount of detail and love put into it... contact her for your next event! She also created awesome games, so be sure to check her out here Erin Gallagher Illustration!
Mrs. Cupcake created an AWESOME diaper cake. Those of you who have ordered from her know how awesome she is able to create a cake that you would never want to take appart! For Ness,  she added the Jungle theme, with neutral blankets, and this amazing blanket Monkey!

Vanessa also LOVES our favor sugar cookies. So, Mrs Cupcake and I decided we would make Elephant Cookies (Large ones) to go with the theme.

A week before the shower, I was bothering the Mommy To Be about her favorite cake. I know she loves red velvet, but I was unsure if her taste had changed prior to the shower... So when she finally said YES to a red velvet cake when she came to visit this week... I was estatic!
Here are some pictures of the cake:

I can't wait to meet Baby C!

It's whats on the inside that counts... in this case that is!

What girl doesn't want to get a coach bag for her birthday? lol. Well, for Jess for her birthday all she wanted was a "Mrs Cupcake Cake". She didn't specify what kind... but because I know her love for all things pink, gold and coach, I decided a bag would do just fine ;)

I decided to add the loops because she loves bags with hardware! Gold rings adorned with pink straps!

Close up of the zipper!

The "C's" had to be perfect because i am a perfectionist. These took the longest...and def took a toll on my back but, SO WORTH IT!
The cake was our signature vanilla cake filled with strawberries and strawberry buttercream. I have some pictures so I can definitely tease a little!!

Happy Birthday Jessicat!! Love u!

Happy 30th Birthday Tommy!

Gina contacted us a few weeks ago about making a cake forher Hockey loving husband, Tommy.

Tommy is an Islanders fan, so I wanted to make sure I got their uniform just write, as well as the hockey puck. The hockey puck is hand painted, not printed.

I had to add a picture of the skates- painted silver :)

Love this guy- He really seemed to enjoy his cake lol

The cake- which I think I may have gone overboard with jimmies with, was a
"Funfetti" chocolate chip cake. I got to taste the left over and it was delicious!! I used the wilton Jimmies because they bake into the cake much nicer than the ice cream ones.
