A few girl friends have this tradition...
Every time one of us becomes pregnant, we get together, shower them with gifts, laugh, play games... and eat cake :)
So, I tested my new fondant recipe... New Raspberry Cake Recipe.... And new Raspberry filling recipe on the girls...
I wasn't too happy with the new fondant recipe... The first cake... exploded! The fondant melted off the cake after being refrigerated ant there I was at 4am making another batch... this time with just a little more cream added...
They always say "don't mess with a good thing" and so... I decided I would stick to our old fashioned Marshmallow fondant!
Congratulations to the Mommies... Ally, Kerri and Jess... who each delivered their healthy, beautiful little girls not too long ago!

Rubber Ducky, You're The One...And you taste good too!
Isabel's cousin, Christy, contacted us the DAY after Easter. She had our lemon curd /lemon butter cream cupcakes at her family Easter dinner and decided that each guest at her Baby shower the following Saturday...NEEDED one!
Rule of thumb... Never deny a pregnant woman her desire!! :)
She asked for us to add a little lemon zest to the buttercream which we were so happy to do...Who doesn't love lemon??
Christy dropped off the theme of the baby shower... The Rubber Ducky so we could make sure to get the yellows and orange correct!
Each was boxed separately in this peekaboo window box. The cupcakes were lemon curd filled, lemon butter cream and vanilla cakes.
Congratulations Christy!!!! Thank you so much for loving our new favor!!!!!!!

Surprises come swinging on Vines!
My best friend's sister contacted me and her best friend's month's ago about throwing her a baby shower... and the excitement has not stopped since!
They really did an amazing job setting up, and getting all the little aspects (Espesially GETTING HER to the shower) down! I never could have done it! I would have definitely slipped!)
(I figure if I add myself to the picture then she won't be mad about me posting ! Love u Ness!)
Vanessa also LOVES our favor sugar cookies. So, Mrs Cupcake and I decided we would make Elephant Cookies (Large ones) to go with the theme.

Vanessa's extremely talented Sister In Law, Erin, designed the invitation. This is what I based the cake on. If you want something that is one of a kind, and has beyond the amount of detail and love put into it... contact her for your next event! She also created awesome games, so be sure to check her out here Erin Gallagher Illustration!
Mrs. Cupcake created an AWESOME diaper cake. Those of you who have ordered from her know how awesome she is able to create a cake that you would never want to take appart! For Ness, she added the Jungle theme, with neutral blankets, and this amazing blanket Monkey!Vanessa also LOVES our favor sugar cookies. So, Mrs Cupcake and I decided we would make Elephant Cookies (Large ones) to go with the theme.
A week before the shower, I was bothering the Mommy To Be about her favorite cake. I know she loves red velvet, but I was unsure if her taste had changed prior to the shower... So when she finally said YES to a red velvet cake when she came to visit this week... I was estatic!
Here are some pictures of the cake:
I can't wait to meet Baby C!

Sugar and Spice... and Everything Nice
Kim contacted us a little while ago and asked if we wanted to do her baby shower cake. She sent me a picture of a cake by PinkCakeBox, and I adored the design!
I was so honored when Kim asked and jumped at the chance! I couldn't wait to do a stacked cake box and this one was just so sweet I couldn't wait.

Something Blue...Who say's it can't be edible?
So, they asked our opinion on how each table could represent that theme. They first thought a cakein the middle of the table, where each table would borrow their cakes... But that would be too confusing...
So, Mommy cupcake and I came up with these little darlings.
Vanilla cupcakes, with blueberry filling, and three simple blue flowers to represent "Past Present and Future".
The cupcakes were in clear round containers and placed with adorable poems on every guest's dish.
Southern Cuppies for Chantal!
When Chantal's sister in law contacted us for her baby shower, she wasn't sure what to get regarding cupcakes...
Since Chantal is a Southern Belle, she wanted to do a variation of her favorite... strawberry shortcakes... In "short cake" form! She is "Team Green" so we did all three colors to go with her "Spring" theme!
I got to eat the left overs from this weekends cakes- and let me tell you besides my buldging belly, These cuppies proved they were the BEST!

The Fluff Frosting, mixed with the white cake and Strawberry filling was unbelieveable ! It really tasted like strawberry shortcake!!

Mickey Themed Shower

Beth and Lauren had contacted us about Jodi's Baby Shower. Since Jodi decided to not find out the sex of the baby, it was important to keep the cake and favors neutral.
So, Jodi's mom Beth decided to stick with Yellows and Green, and her daughter, Lauren, helped figure out what to do for the top! A Mickey Mouse True To Life Baby Hat! :)
Beth had also decided that the favors should represent the cake as well. When she saw our onesie cookies previously she decided that's what she had to have! So, Mom threw some Mikey heads on the bibs, and VIOLA! Again wonderful job from Mommy Cupcake!!

Baby Bear for Baby Girl

Vivian had ordered this cake before I had even decided to do cakes for real lol!
She wanted a pink cake for her baby shower... And I couldn't wait to make it!
The cake was vanilla on the bottom, Chocolate on the top. Although the whole rolling the fondant thing was hard for me with my new stitches... I really wanted to make this Momma to be smile!!
