How Sweet It Is... To be 16!

Donna had contacted me a few weeks ago about a Sweet 16 Cake for her daughter. I wasn't able to picture the theme of the cake until I received this awesome copy of her invitation!  I knew exactly what to do and got right to preparing the fondant and coloring!
The cake was my moms amazing vanilla cake, with raspberry jelly compote(Leftovers are sitting in my fridge and being used on toast!)
There isn't an easy way to do the cheetah other than by hand...which took forever but I decided to copy the EXACT invitation cheetah! I know, a little OCD but so worth it!

I decided to put Victoria's name inside of the exact shape on the invitation to make the invite incorporated into the cake.

And, anyone who thinks zebra stripes are easy... Try again! This took the longestbecause I wanted to stay true to the invitiation with smaller thinner stripes.

Happy Sweet 16 Victoria!

"Make It Girly..."

Christina, who is a Favorite repeat customer of ours, contacted us about a small  ten person, personal birthday cake for her Birthday. And her only directions? "Make it Girly"! I was beyond excited and had an idea right off the bat!  She wanted the colors to be pink black and white, so I knew what I had to do!
The cake was a devils food cake with melted chocolate, and chocolate chip vanilla filling!
Christina likes Disney, but I didn't want the cake to resemble a kid's princess cake... and so all of a sudden it popped into my head... Cinderella.... Shoe... shoe on top of a... PILLOW. So, I decided to throw in a simple pillow but give a more modern shoe.

The shoe is sugarpaste. I am kind of obsessed with the small flower for some reason lol.
And so I kept thinking, Girlie shoes... Nail polish.... Martini! And there went the design!
Nailpolish of course....

Olives...

Christina also ordered some Shoe Cookies to go with her theme!
Of course I had to add a Hidden Mickey into the shoes!

And the other cookies

Happy Birthday Christina!!!

Grams Turns 80... And we feed her sweet tooth!

Our Grandmother turned 80 April 9th. Those of you who know her... know she is one of the pure of heart... probably one of the only pure of heart left in the world. My amazing family had been planning it for months, and couldn't wait!
Her theme was Pearls, Yellow and pink roses.. oh and of course... BASEBALL!
My cousin Chrissy was so upset to find out she wouldnt be able to eat the Lemon and Lemon buttercream filled cake ! Grams was going to be taking them home so I promised to make her a cake soon... (I did yesterday Boston Creme!)
Grams LOVES roses and pearls and Baseball. So, when it came time to make her cake I decided to go with the theme of elegant and add a baseball in there somewhere!
Our Grams is the Yankee's BIGGEST fan. She is an awesome lady and how could I not add the baseball in there somewhere?
So, On top of a pillow, with scattered roses, I added that ball lol...
I came across this picture when I was looking through the cake ones, and it brought a tear to my eyes. I couldnt believe how amazing it is to have captured such a happy moment. Great Grandma Cupcake, Mrs Cupcake, and Babycake all together.
I had to add a picture of my Grandfather and Grandmother because it went so beautifully with the theme.

To go with the theme, I decided (Naturally) to go with the newest edition to our company... The chocolate chip cookie favours!!!!
I had some left over yellow flowers from Gina's shower and since the theme was pink and yellow, I said... Why not!
See by the favour tag how it goes nicely!
I really loved using the new lettering I had, and since grams loves white gold i guess silver is okay lol

Well, That's about it!

Sugar and Spice... and Everything Nice

Kim contacted us a little while ago and asked if we wanted to do her baby shower cake. She sent me a picture of a cake by PinkCakeBox, and I adored the design!

I was so honored when Kim asked and jumped at the chance! I couldn't wait to do a stacked cake box and this one was just so sweet I couldn't wait.

The cake was two layers each of red velvet cake. The cake was filled with our secret Chocolate Chip cream cheese filling.

Gumpaste bows adorned the cake and really gave the cake it's "Box" look.

Congratulations Kim , Daddy and Baby P!! So glad to be a part of your day!

Tiffany's... Sweet 16 and theme!

When Laura contacted me about a Tiffany Theme "Side" cake and red velvet sheet cake I was beyond excited. I love anything Tiffany Theme!
She sent me a picture of a cake that she wanted exactly and I decided to put a little finishing touches on it!

So, Silver of course because Tiffany's it known for their silver, and a heart on the shoes because Tiffany's is known for their Tiffany Heart. I added the shoes on top of a pillow because I just thought it gave it more of an authentic "Tiffany's" feel.

The shoes are gumpaste.

Happy Sweet 16 Tiffany!

It's whats on the inside that counts... in this case that is!

What girl doesn't want to get a coach bag for her birthday? lol. Well, for Jess for her birthday all she wanted was a "Mrs Cupcake Cake". She didn't specify what kind... but because I know her love for all things pink, gold and coach, I decided a bag would do just fine ;)

I decided to add the loops because she loves bags with hardware! Gold rings adorned with pink straps!

Close up of the zipper!

The "C's" had to be perfect because i am a perfectionist. These took the longest...and def took a toll on my back but, SO WORTH IT!
The cake was our signature vanilla cake filled with strawberries and strawberry buttercream. I have some pictures so I can definitely tease a little!!

Happy Birthday Jessicat!! Love u!

The tree is actually chocolate tootsie roll fondant, Rice Crispy Treats!! The cake is filled with nutella, bananas and strawberries, and Boy did I have fun with the leftovers!
