God Bless Lucas!

Lucas' mom contacted us about a last minute cake for her son's communion...
And we were so very excited when we heard the theme!
Although this is probably the LONGEST I ever worked on a cake (See the rosary? well, I have a major obsession with detail and needed to have each the exact same size!)

So, I decided to make the cake thicker and higher so that the cake looked more like a cloud...

The cake was our organic vanilla bean cake with vanilla fluff filling.
The cross is made of sugarpaste, as well as the clouds...

And I have to throw in one more picture of this little angel:

Congratulations Lucas!

Nonno turns 60!

One of our favorite repeat customers contacted us about a cake for her father, who would be turning 60.
So, with a little discussion, we figured out that since he loves cards, we would do something card themed!
So, a card table it was...

"Nonno" is painted with silver luster...

And the cards, sugarpaste!

I made the poker chips actual size and added  a personalized "S" for Salvatore (Nonno's name!)
I made a edible deck of cards as well with a 60 on it...

The cake was a chocolate cake, filled and coated with chocolate buttercream mouse.

Happy Birthday Nonno! God Bless!!

We're CooCoo for Koko!

My "Secret" client told me about four months ago that for his birthday, the only thing he wanted was a Chuggington cake...but more specifically Koko.
Koko was made using full marshmellow fondant. The head is sculpted and covered as well. The base is made entirely of rice crispy treats.
This is the car that he gave me to base his KOKO cake on. His favorite episode is when KOKO works too hard and falls asleep so, KOKO is looking tired for him lol.

The cake was a yellow cake with chocolate brownie baked into it.
To pair with the vanilla and brwnie, I made a cinnamon honey buttercream.
 Rice crispy treat bottom.
 And another of Koko.

Chuggington!

Birthday Boy Loves His Dinosaurs!

Jeremy's mom contacted us about his birthday a while back...And we knew what the order would consist of...
Jeremy is one of my favorite little boys. If you ever have a project on Dino's and need some info, give this little man a call!!
His mom ordered Red Velvet cupcakes and Dino cupcake toppers(All Edible)
The cupcakes had cream cheese frostng.

Mrs. Cupcake saw it fit to add some red to the Dinosaurs to match the red velvet and I LOVE it!!

Happy Birthday Jeremy!!!!

Mr.Met ....for Michael!

Deirdre contacted me a few weeks ago about a surprise cake for her boyfriend, Michael's 25th Birthday. He loves the Mets, so naturally, the cake had to be a Met's cake!
She wanted Mr.Met to be on the cake, and I have to admit...he was much harder than I thought! Keeping the gumpaste perfectly round was rough after sculpting his mouth! lol
The hat was a sugarpaste hat as well, adorned with the Mets Logo.
She wanted the Logo except having "Michael" writting in place of Mets.
The cake was a Chocolate cake, with melted chocolate into the batter.

Happy Birthday Michael!

Happy 30th Birthday Tommy!

Gina contacted us a few weeks ago about making a cake forher Hockey loving husband, Tommy.

Tommy is an Islanders fan, so I wanted to make sure I got their uniform just write, as well as the hockey puck. The hockey puck is hand painted, not printed.

I had to add a picture of the skates- painted silver :)

Love this guy- He really seemed to enjoy his cake lol

The cake- which I think I may have gone overboard with jimmies with, was a
"Funfetti" chocolate chip cake. I got to taste the left over and it was delicious!! I used the wilton Jimmies because they bake into the cake much nicer than the ice cream ones.
