Rubber Ducky, You're The One...And you taste good too!

Isabel's cousin, Christy, contacted us the DAY after Easter. She had our lemon curd /lemon butter cream cupcakes at her family Easter dinner and decided that each guest at her Baby shower the following Saturday...NEEDED one!
Rule of thumb... Never deny a pregnant woman her desire!! :)

She asked for us to add a little lemon zest to the buttercream which we were so happy to do...Who doesn't love lemon??
Christy dropped off the theme of the baby shower... The Rubber Ducky so we could make sure to get the yellows and orange correct!

Each was boxed separately in this peekaboo window box. The cupcakes were lemon curd filled, lemon butter cream and vanilla cakes.

Congratulations Christy!!!! Thank you so much for loving our new favor!!!!!!!

Mouth Watering.. Just by a picture!

I just wanted to share even more pictures from the Amazing Amanda Picone from Kim's beautiful baby shower...

There is something that I love about the look of a slice of  fresh cut cake. I am not sure why... but it's my favorite part of a party...  I'm not sure if it's the demolishing of a beautiful art form (hehe) or if it's just the look of the cake...
And some more of my favorite cake of all time!

Mr.Met ....for Michael!

Deirdre contacted me a few weeks ago about a surprise cake for her boyfriend, Michael's 25th Birthday. He loves the Mets, so naturally, the cake had to be a Met's cake!
She wanted Mr.Met to be on the cake, and I have to admit...he was much harder than I thought! Keeping the gumpaste perfectly round was rough after sculpting his mouth! lol
The hat was a sugarpaste hat as well, adorned with the Mets Logo.
She wanted the Logo except having "Michael" writting in place of Mets.
The cake was a Chocolate cake, with melted chocolate into the batter.

Happy Birthday Michael!

Here comes Peter Cotton Tail... With a new cuppie idea!

Isabel contacted us the day before Easter, And explained to us that she attempted cupcakes... and set them on fire. It was her first big Easter and she wanted to make sure her dessert matched her families dinner!
So, Mrs.Cupcake came up with an amazing new idea. Cookie Cupcakes.
Two...Two...Two favors in one!

The cupcakes are vanilla cupcakes with miniature vanilla sugar cookies placed on top and hand decorated.
Each were FILLED with lemon curd- SO good!
She sent us a picture of the Easter Bunny placemats she bought and mom copied them exactly.

I personally LOVED the amazing duckies. And so did Isabel's cousin who decided to contact us for a last minute favor... I will update soon with that!

Happy Easter Isabel and Family! So glad we were able to help!

How Sweet It Is... To be 16!

Donna had contacted me a few weeks ago about a Sweet 16 Cake for her daughter. I wasn't able to picture the theme of the cake until I received this awesome copy of her invitation!  I knew exactly what to do and got right to preparing the fondant and coloring!
The cake was my moms amazing vanilla cake, with raspberry jelly compote(Leftovers are sitting in my fridge and being used on toast!)
There isn't an easy way to do the cheetah other than by hand...which took forever but I decided to copy the EXACT invitation cheetah! I know, a little OCD but so worth it!

I decided to put Victoria's name inside of the exact shape on the invitation to make the invite incorporated into the cake.

And, anyone who thinks zebra stripes are easy... Try again! This took the longestbecause I wanted to stay true to the invitiation with smaller thinner stripes.

Happy Sweet 16 Victoria!

Bacon Lovers... How about we add some sugar to your love?

So, Kevin contacted us a few months ago and asked for a Bacon Cupcake for his dad's retirement party. See, his dad is a very popular Grill master and just LOVES bacon....
So for the last month or so, I've been playing around trying to PERFECT the recipe I had. Some of my friends got to be testers and they really liked them... the secret was adding the right amount of maple syrup to the bacon!
I have to say, as a bacon lover myself... I really LOVED the way they finally came out!

Happy Birthday E!

Tiny Cakes.... perfect for Tea

Katie sent this picture from her "Tea for Me" Bridal Shower. She had tried our red velvet a while back from another client and LOVED it.  So, she contacted us and asked us for 75 Tiny cakes for her Tea Bridal Shower.
Here are some that didn't quite make it out of the pan- But I still managed to fill and eat haha!
I have to say, they were harder than they looked... at least we got to keep the left overs! DH enjoyed that!

Congratulations Katie!

"Make It Girly..."

Christina, who is a Favorite repeat customer of ours, contacted us about a small  ten person, personal birthday cake for her Birthday. And her only directions? "Make it Girly"! I was beyond excited and had an idea right off the bat!  She wanted the colors to be pink black and white, so I knew what I had to do!
The cake was a devils food cake with melted chocolate, and chocolate chip vanilla filling!
Christina likes Disney, but I didn't want the cake to resemble a kid's princess cake... and so all of a sudden it popped into my head... Cinderella.... Shoe... shoe on top of a... PILLOW. So, I decided to throw in a simple pillow but give a more modern shoe.

The shoe is sugarpaste. I am kind of obsessed with the small flower for some reason lol.
And so I kept thinking, Girlie shoes... Nail polish.... Martini! And there went the design!
Nailpolish of course....

Olives...

Christina also ordered some Shoe Cookies to go with her theme!
Of course I had to add a Hidden Mickey into the shoes!

And the other cookies

Happy Birthday Christina!!!

Surprises come swinging on Vines!

My best friend's sister  contacted me and her best friend's month's ago about throwing her a baby shower... and the excitement has not stopped since!

They really did an amazing job setting up, and getting all the little aspects (Espesially GETTING HER to the shower) down! I never could have done it! I would have definitely slipped!)
(I figure if I add myself to the picture then she won't be mad about me posting ! Love u Ness!)

Vanessa's extremely talented Sister In Law, Erin, designed the invitation. This is what I based the cake on. If you want something that is one of a kind, and has beyond the amount of detail and love put into it... contact her for your next event! She also created awesome games, so be sure to check her out here Erin Gallagher Illustration!
Mrs. Cupcake created an AWESOME diaper cake. Those of you who have ordered from her know how awesome she is able to create a cake that you would never want to take appart! For Ness,  she added the Jungle theme, with neutral blankets, and this amazing blanket Monkey!

Vanessa also LOVES our favor sugar cookies. So, Mrs Cupcake and I decided we would make Elephant Cookies (Large ones) to go with the theme.

A week before the shower, I was bothering the Mommy To Be about her favorite cake. I know she loves red velvet, but I was unsure if her taste had changed prior to the shower... So when she finally said YES to a red velvet cake when she came to visit this week... I was estatic!
Here are some pictures of the cake:

I can't wait to meet Baby C!
