Ohhh... Lucy!

Doreen LOVES Lucy. So, for her surprise cake I went with a vintage colored cake, with a hand painted fondant Lucyhead!
I have to get used to the settings on my camera for manual, but this is a closeup of Lucy's face...

These were painted with pearl luster...

The total product!
A devilsfood chocolate cake, filled with nutella buttercream, reeses chocolate cups and chocolate chips... YUM!

And your spotted doggie too!

For Halloween Salvatore was a fireman! So, Naturally... a fireman themed birthday cake would be necessary!!

I loved this little guy. What fireplace is complete without their dalmation?

And Mr. Fireman himself!

The cake was a funfetti cake with vanilla buttercream and chocolate chips.

God Bless John!

"Um, Jenny- How do we cut into this??" lmao

So as you can see this is a bible cake. When John first saw it he bypassed it thinking someone had just left their bible on top of the fireplace!

I hand painted each page as well as the tassle and the "Holy Bible" using the silver luster dust.
The cake was a red velvet cake with creamcheese chocolate chip filling. The fondant was a mix of tootsie roll fondant and marshmellow- super YUM-O!

The pictures do not do it justice- the pages had an antique look to them (The flash is picking up on the wrong areas!!) I also added the little crosses in the corners.

Happy 74th birthday John!

Cake Slice... slice for slice :)

Ever wonder why when we go to a wedding, or party, the slices are all so small?

Well, as bakers, it's because we go by the proper serving of a cake. (Sorry guys!)

Alot of times I get the question "But how much cake do you make for this many people?"

It's much easier to answer that question when looking at a guide. For example, Wilton has their own guide - Wilton Cutting Guide (Click Here)

So, for example- wilton explains that one 12 x 18 inch sheet cake (stacked twice) feeds 72 people!

Would never have thought so huh? lol. Now, I want some cake!

Sugar Plum And Flowers... Take Two...

Again do you SEE Momma's rose detail? Love it.. lol... Okay now on to the cuppies!

This is the second order for the adorable Roses. When Susan contacted us she wanted to know if we could make a smooth, but elegant chocolate chip cupcake for her daughter who is expecting her first child.

Theresa's room is based on the theme of "sugar plum" and candies.... She asked if we could make the frosting simple, and add some roses on top of them.

So, we did! And I have to say I love the elegantly placed sprinkles on the "Gum Drop" frosted chocolate chip cuppies!!
We had left over so I'm very excited we got to have some!

Roses are in FULL bloom this week! Part 1

Mom's been working all week on TONS of yellow and pink roses! (She's also a perfectionist by the way)
So, when we received two orders in the same week for yellow and pink roses... Mom began to go nuts!

These were for a Bridal Shower for a lovely girl named Ella. Ella's mom had contacted us and said Ella is a HUGE fan of oreo cookies and of cookies and cream cake...
When asked if we could make her some oreo cupcakes that still fit the "Spring" wedding theme of her shower... We were excited!

I wanted to add a picture that would show a closeup of the amount of cookie mom throws into her batter! She does NOT skimp! lol.

Congratulations Ella and Thomas! We hear she brought all the extra home and froze them! xoxo

C is for... Connor! Smash those cookies!

Hi cookie!! lolol...
So those of you who havn't heard of a smash cake... Be prepared because we have ALOT coming up!!

A smash cake is usually for a child's first birthday. The cake is usually a simple cake that the birthday boy or girl can SMASH to pieces while being photographed!!

Cookie monster did a bit of smashing himself though with his cookies... check out those leftover chips!

I decided to add the Sesame street "Street" to the cake because I just think it looks too cute. And of course what would complete it better than Cookie Letters!

Had to make another cookie face because he is so cute!!!!!!

Smash cakes are a single layer of softer cake along with softer marshmellow fondant for the children to be able to break into with ease. I can't wait to see Cookie's head being bit off! lolol
Love and cookies...erg... Sprinkles ;)

Disney...Christmas and Gardening... Who Would Have THought!

I was contacted by Christine a while ago about making her Mom a special cake. She asked if there was any way we could combine her favorite things... Christmas, Gardening and (My favorite...Disney!)

So right away I thought- Mickey heads in a garden! But I was a little confused with how to get christmas in there... Until i saw in my head a picket fence! Filled with garland of course!

These Mickey heads are gumpaste. I added alot of sparkle to give it that pixy magic and lots of little hand sculpted flowers and leaves. The top is crushed chocolate cookies with a three layer chocolate cake. Fillings are Chocolate with melted chocolate and Vanilla with real vanilla bean!

Here is a close up of the flowers that I love!!!
Christine, Thank you so much for allowing me to make this cake! It is my all time favorite!

The cake was a melted chocoalte cake with vanilla buttercream. The peeshe is brownie covered in marshmellow fondant :)

Thanks Laura! I think you've started a trend!

I like my Cuppies EXTRA LARGE please ;)

We had made a large cupcake for my engagement party and I LOVED IT. So, I decided that for Nessa's birthday I would do the same... with a little more time I had just a little more fun!
The top of the cupcake is red velvet and the bottom is a vanilla with chocolate raspberry mouse. It seems like I need to add more stabilizer though but thats okay.

I had to add the little frosting drip and see that bottom? IT's tootsie roll chocolate fondant!!
I added the little doiley to make it seem a little elegant. I was going to make a fork too but I ran out of time :(

Happy Birthday Ness...Mommy To be!
