Cake Pops For Christmas!

What's a cake pop? A cake pop is a chocolate covered piece of cake... How much better can you get? lol

A week before Christmas, Lisa contacted us. The favors she had wanted for her December wedding (Edible cookies) had some how been cancelled. She asked us if we could make a small scene for her guests to take home...

We were a little confused at first and then sent her the idea of cake pops!

And who can resist an edible snowman?

The bottom was rice crispy treats, the balls are chocolate and the snow men are white choclate covered white cake. This was our left over one we got to munch on ourselves!

Baby for Bears

When I found out my best friend was having a baby... I wanted to make her something special.
So what better than a cute pregnant bear with a fondant burping cloth around your cake?lol

The cake was a vanilla cake with strawberry meringue frosting. IT was the first time i tried the white cake mix and I have to say it was a little dry for my taste lol

See the belly bump? Ahhh so cute! Love you !

Team Green goes Green!

Dana, who is due in February, is Team Green! She decided not to find out what she was having :)

Dana's Shower theme is woodsland characters, so I decided to make her cake showing just that.

I had to add the little frog, i love his tongue!

The cake was a german chocolate cake with vanilla filling- Yumm! The tree is rice crispy with tootsie roll chocolate fondant!

Congrats Dana!

So... Creating the untimate elegant butterfly cake was super fun!
I wanted the cake to look magical so I added some pixy dist to the cake and had the bottom covered in plain white flowers.

Oreos are making a come back! For Weddings!

A month ago, Chris and Amy contacted me and asked "What can you do with Oreos because we don't like them covered in melted chocolate"...
I thought to myself "That's easy!"

So, for their wedding favors the couple gave each guest three marshmellow fondant covered oreo cookies! Their colors were Baby blue and navy, and wanted a simple monogram to go with their elegant wedding!

Congrats!

N-I-C....K-E-Y... Nickey turns 1!

Mickey for Nicky!! Nicholas turned one this Month, and his mom decided that they would have a Mickey Theme for his birthday!
Nicholas is the biggest blue eyed smiley baby in the world, so I thought... Why not make him as a figure!
It seems like the Mickey hats are becoming my trademark piece and I AM LOVING it! They take over two weeks to create but they are WELL worth it. If you look close... you can see that Nicholas is holding a mickey head!

Mommy cupcake made extra large Mickey head cookies to match the cake and invitations! The cookies all had the number one on them! Awesome Job Mommy Cupcake!

Alisa contacted me about a cake for her mom's birthday! This was my first ever try making fondant shells and starfish!
I was a little disapointed because the cake became very dense (Should have raised double) but there was no getting another german chocolate bar in time!

Chocolate rocks and rice krispy lighthouse adorned the cake too!

Mardi Gras... Beads included!!

Erin had contacted us about a Mardi Gra's themed birthday party! Since we had recently done a Masquerade, we were excited to make a real Mardi Gra's theme!

The cake was a german chocolate cake with melted german chocolate. The beads are finished with pearl luster, and the mask is fondant.

We really tried to stick with the common Yellow, Green, Purple, Silver, Gold, black colors.

Since the mask cookies we had made prior to these were small, we used the cookie cutter that came with it to create a 3D cookie. Placing the diamond gave the mask much more dimention and added to the theme.
We really love the way the cake looks with those cookies! And did we mention they're delicious?

Happy Birthday Mommy Cupcake!

Mommy Cupcake's birthday came faster than we thought! Since Dean is just one month old, he spends alot of his time sleeping (SHOCK!) lol
So, I decided to come up with a concept for mom's cake... A baker.
The rolling pin is made from rice crispy treats. The cake is a vanilla cake with pineapple filling.

My mother in law began to roll the pin because she thought it was real!
I added the "tissue" paper on top and decorated some cookies to place in it.

She was really excited... although- I think she was more excited for Dean's visit!

It's Not a baker's cake without the rolled out cookie dough!

Surprise! First Her Daughter's Baby Shower...

And Now Her SURPRISE Birthday!

Beth had no idea that her daughter, Lauren, decided to surprise her mom with this Maxine cake the same weekend as her sister's baby shower!
Lauren had asked me if I would be able to do a Maxine figure, and I have to admit, at first I was nervous! I told her to let me see if I could before I said yes...
And before I knew it the figure started to come together!
I based it on a Hallmark card that said "Once you're over the hill, everything starts melting" and based everything on the cake melting, and stuck with some happy colors.
Beth was estatic, and such a wonderful woman. Mommy cupcake and I are lucky to have met them!

Mickey Themed Shower

Beth and Lauren had contacted us about Jodi's Baby Shower. Since Jodi decided to not find out the sex of the baby, it was important to keep the cake and favors neutral.
So, Jodi's mom Beth decided to stick with Yellows and Green, and her daughter, Lauren, helped figure out what to do for the top! A Mickey Mouse True To Life Baby Hat! :)

Beth had also decided that the favors should represent the cake as well. When she saw our onesie cookies previously she decided that's what she had to have! So, Mom threw some Mikey heads on the bibs, and VIOLA! Again wonderful job from Mommy Cupcake!!

I created the favor tags to go with the color's and used the Disney Font that we are so usd to seeing.
Congratulations Jodi!
